The Integrated System for the Management of Species and Varieties for West Africa and the Sahel (SIGEVAOS) ensures the electronic registration of plant varieties that are candidates for inclusion in the national catalog of plant species and varieties of member states, parties to the Harmonized Regional Seed Regulation: C/REG.4/05/2008/ECOWAS, N-03/2009/CM/WAEMU, and CSSA/2006/CILSS, and in accordance with the provisions required by the implementation regulation of the Regional Committee for Seeds and Plants of West Africa and the Sahel (CRSPAOS). The platform is designed to be an essential tool for implementing the harmonization of rules governing quality control, certification, and marketing of seeds and plant materials in West Africa and the Sahel.
